Halloween is right around the corner, so it’s important for us to be extra careful this spooky season.
It’s generally known that Texas has a high number of DWIs and drunk driving-related incidents every year. The sobering reality is that Halloween is one of the deadliest nights of the year because of car accidents, especially for children, according to State Farm.
If we all do our part, we can hopefully keep as many children safe as possible this year.
Drivers, be mindful at intersections, crosswalks, and residential areas where trick-or-treaters may be out starting early evening to late at night. If you plan to drink, please don’t drive. Instead, have a DD, use Uber or Lyft, or stay the night where you party.
Parents, be extra cautious when crossing the street with your kids, and don’t rely on drivers to necessarily see you. Stay on sidewalks whenever possible, and if you can, add reflective elements to your children’s costumes. If your children are old enough to trick-or-treat by themselves, please discuss proper road safety with them before they go out.
We hope everyone has a fun, spooky, and safe Halloween this year! If you or your children do experience damage or injury, please call 956-686-9600 to get in touch with the Ryan Solis Law Group.
